FIDEM Foundation announces a leadership transition as Founder Dr. Sabine Agius Cabourdin steps back from her active role.
For many years, Dr. Sabine Agius Cabourdin has dedicated her time and expertise to philanthropy, also offering pro bono legal advice to vulnerable individuals and helping establish voluntary organisations and non-profit foundations for those wishing to formalise their charitable work.
Her leadership at FIDEM has been guided by a steadfast belief in equality, fairness, equity, and justice. Her work at the Foundation has always been anchored in a fundamental belief in human rights and in the conviction that everyone deserves equal opportunities especially those less privileged or unheard. She has consistently used her voice to stand up for those who don’t have one, ensuring that dignity, compassion, and inclusion remain central to FIDEM’s mission. For Dr. Agius Cabourdin, philanthropy is not merely about giving, but about restoring balance, opportunity, and hope in a society that too often overlooks the vulnerable. These values will continue to guide the Foundation’s vision for the future.
As Dr. Agius Cabourdin has recently engaged in a new political role, also on a voluntary basis, she will now be taking a step back from her role in the operations of the Foundation. She will now be passing on her leadership role to Judith Valletta, who will assume the position of Managing Director of FIDEM Foundation.
Valletta, a qualified radiographer by profession, has been an integral part of FIDEM Foundation since its inception in 2018. She currently serves as the Foundation’s Secretary and sits on its Board of Directors. In addition to her work with FIDEM, Judith is the Operations Manager at the Wignacourt Museum, where she oversees day-to-day management and cultural initiatives.
A lifelong friend of Dr. Sabine Agius Cabourdin, Judith shares her passion for empowering others and driving positive social change. Her dedication, leadership, and deep commitment to FIDEM’s mission have been instrumental in shaping the Foundation’s growth and impact over the years.
